Showtime is staying in Renaissance mode with a third-season order for “The Borgias.”
The drama, starring Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander VI, François Arnaud as Cesare Borgia, and Holliday Grainger as Lucrezia Borgia will return in 2013 with production set to begin this summer in Budapest. Ten episodes have been ordered.
The series was created by exec producer Neil Jordan, who writes and directs a handful of episodes.
In the midst of its second season, the show drew 2.6 million for its first episode on April 8, including repeats, DVR usage and on demand plays over seven days. That’s down from last season’s average but Showtime sampled this year’s premiere online in March.
apparently called The Borgia Bull. Thanks to Maria!
Update! Here’s some additional ones, also thanks to Maria!
there is still tons of promotion to go I’ve got three wonderful cast stills of Jeremy, Holliday, David and Francois for
the upcoming season. They are all done in black and white which just adds to the allure and while both Jeremy and David’s photos are separate, Holliday and Francois’s are together.
The Borgias returns April 8th on Showtime.
